MECHANICAL JOINT FITTINGS

AMERICAN provides a complete line of 4″ through 48″ mechanical joint fittings fulfilling the demands of ANSI/AWWA C110/A21.10 or ANSI/AWWA C153/A21.53, with the joint meeting the needs of ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11.

Mechanical joint fittings have been used extensively in underground service with Fastite joint pipeline along with mechanical joint pipeline.

While mechanical joint fittings have provided excellent solution for years, their usage is presently being supplanted oftentimes by Fastite, Flex-Ring and Lok-Ring fittings. These fittings provide improved and much less labor-intensive field assembly and efficiency, and their usage should be taken into consideration in lieu of mechanical joint fittings in most large-diameter applications.

The style of mechanical joint fittings is based on their use with pipeline that has basic outside diameters for mechanical joint and Fastite joint pipeline. In intending a mechanical joint link to an old existing pipe, the outdoors diameter must be carefully examined where the connection is to be made.

Mechanical joint fittings are generally furnished total with a gland, plain rubber gasket and tee-head alloy steel screws with heavy hex nuts for every outlet.

Ductile iron mechanical joint fittings are offered for pressure ratings of 150, 250 and 350 psi.

Installations for water solution are typically furnished with cement lining according to AWWA C104 and with an outdoors asphaltic finishing.
